Shiatsu / Acupressure
Shiatsu or acupressure involves stimulating acupuncture points with fingertip pressure instead of needles. The same conditions treated by acupuncture can be treated with acupressure and is ideal for those who are uncomfortable with the use of needles.Acupressure, similar to reflexology, acts to unblock energy channels or meridian lines within the body. But where reflexology deals only with acupoints on the feet, acupressure deals with all 365 points on the body.
Each acupoint is associated with a specific part of the body, whether it be an organ or structure of the body. Sensitivity or discomfort when pressure is applied to an acupoint implies that there is a problem with that associated part of the body.
Shiatsu can be used to treat a variety of problems including:
- Insomnia
- Headaches
- Migraines
- Anxiety
- Back pain
- Fatigue
- Poor circulation
- Weight issues
- Indigestion
- Chills and flashes
- Appetite
- Chronic arthritis or rheumatism
- High blood pressure
- Joint problems

Shiatsu helps me with my poor circulation and indigestion. It's like having reflexology over the whole body. After the treatment I feel great.
