Cupping is in the same area of Acupuncture and Acupressure a holistic, alternative medicine.The earliest use of cupping that is recorded is from the famous Taoist alchemist and herbalist GE Hong 281-341 A.D. The method was described in his book - Handbook of Prescriptions for Emergencies.
By creating suction and negative pressure, cupping is used to drain excess fluids and toxins,bring blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles and stimulate the peripheral nervous system.
Chinese medicine observes that cupping dispels stagnation of blood and CHI ENERGY.
Cupping is used in all Chinese hospitals.
